Yes. Cushendale ships all over the world with all shipments from the mill in Graignamanagh. International deliveries are with UPS (some exceptions may apply from time to time if there are preferable delivery times from other services). Collections are Monday to Friday. Orders are generally shipped within 2 to 3 days of receiving orders.

Yes. Gift boxes are available to purchase on our website and in store. If sending a gift and would like to include a personal note just include this in the notes field and we will include it.

By law all purchases delivered within the EU are charged and pay tax, for all items we sell that rate is 23% and is included in the prices we display. Purchases bought on-line and delivered to addresses from outside the EU (eg USA, Canada, Australia) do not attract the 23% tax. When the delivery address is entered in the website the pricing will automatically adjust to reflect the relevant tax. Some countries e.g. UK post Brexit do apply duties at the point of delivery, Cushendale has no responsibility for calculating or facilitating such charges.

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, please contact us as soon as possible by e-mail or telephone. Then simply return the item to us in the condition in which it was delivered, within fourteen days of receiving the goods. Please include a copy of the order despatch note, reason for the return and an indication of your wish to receive a refund or an exchange.All carriage costs incurred with exchange or refund goods is at the customers expense.Returns after fourteen days will be considered at the discretion of the Company. A refund will not be considered in such instances.

Cushendale Woollen Mill is located in the heart of a small town Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Located in the South East of Ireland, Graignamanagh is approximately 1.5 hours by car from Dublin.

Yes. There is a public bus service between Graignamanagh and Kilkenny which runs Monday through Saturday all year round.
The service is run by Kilbride Coaches (+353 51 423 633) and takes approximately 1 hour.
Departs from Kilkenny Castle 12.00pm and 6pm arriving at Graignamanagh at 1pm and 7pm respectively.
Departs Graignamanagh (opposite Daisy Chain cafe) at 7.45am and 2.00pm.

The nearest train station is Muine Bheag /Bagenalstown, County Carlow which is a 20 minute drive away.

The mill is located on Mill Road in the centre of the town. There is some off street parking available beside the mill, closeby there are also free public carparks.

The mill is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm all year round.
We open on Saturdays 10.30am to 5.30pm from April to December.
We close daily for lunch 12.30pm-1.30pm.Closed: Sundays and Bank Holidays

Visitors to the mill will learn about our history and unique processes, see our working spinning mule from 1890 and see our full range of yarns and textiles. A member of the team is always available to speak with you about our special heritage and master craftsmanship. In addition to Cushendale yarns and textiles we also stock a range of Irish made artisan craft products.

Both group and private "behind the scene" tours can be arranged in advance. These tours take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Find up to date information on our tours here.

There is no coffee shop at Cushendale. There are some nice coffees shops in our town, within 5 minutes walk of the mill.

Graignamanagh is a very historic and picturesque town. We always encourage visitors to the mill to allow time to visit Duiske Abbey (built in 1204 and the basis of the first mill built at our site), take a walk by the beautiful River Barrow which flows through our town and explore the towns heritage trail.

Visitors to the mill can see and buy Cushendale yarns, textiles and other Irish made craft. We do offer flat rate shipping for overseas visitors and can schedule your delivery for when you return from your holiday.

Cushendale is Irelands oldest woollenmill and has been in contiouss operation as a woollen mill since first established in the 13th century.The first mill was established on the site of Cushendale in 1204 by the Cistercian monks of Duiske Abbey, the mill race that they channeled to power their mill continues to run today and is likely to be one of the oldest mill races in existence today. After the closure of the Abbey in the 1539 under Henry VIII, the mill continued to operate by lay people. The Cushen family have been operating a mill in since the 1800s, and always living on Mill Road. The textiles made at the mill today have a direct link to this rich heritage through the water supply, machinery and skills that have been passed down over the years.

All Cushendale textiles are made at our mill in Graignamanagh, Ireland. We are one of the last mills in Ireland to craft throws and blankets from start to finish under our own roof. We do not contract out any part of the process which ensures our high quality standards are never compromised.

Cushendale yarns and textiles are using delicate and slower processes which protect the individual yarn fibres creating a uniquely soft handle to touch.

All Cushendale yarns and textiles are made using natural fibres. This is a key part of our values, remaining sustainable in every way and being at one with nature.
